Did you know..?

La Ribolla is a vine which origin is from Friuli Venezia Giulia; La Robola (as it used to be also called in the past) had indeed been cultivated by the Venetians at the time of Serenissima Republic of Venice. We have therefore to look back at 700 years ago, as specified on a dedicated law written in 1289 which is an official proof. Professor Perusini tells about how this wine had been offered by the Council of Udine to the local politicians and militaries. By end of 1300 it became popular also abroad.

When the Duke of Austria Leopold III of Augsburg established his reign in Trieste, he forced by law the local governor to provide him regularly with huge quantities of Ribolla Gialla. Ribolla Gialla is a vigorous wine (late harvested) that gives great feelings when tasted.

It had been through difficult moments by end of Medieval Era, due to the very many different types of Ribolla Gialla, not all of them of great quality; the worse period for Ribolla Gialla is linked to the Grande Guerra; however the strong relationship between the vine, territory and people helped it to survive through these challenging times.

Pale straw-yellow sparkling wine with green shades, its perlage is extremely persistent and elegant. The parfume is very delicate, it presents aromas of wildflowers, apple and citrus leaves. Taste is fresh, very rich and intense.
Its growing process is slow, harvest takes place by the end of September and this allows to develop elegant parfumes and aromas.
